Ping Pong is one of my go-to games for relaxing and chilling with my friends. It keeps the fun and also helps with maintaining the health. World Tennis Day is celebrated on 6th April, and there are people who play the game just for that single day! I wish more people realize the importance of the game and add the game to their daily regime.
Why should you make Ping Pong your Everyday-Game?
My whole family plays the Ping Pong game, and our home-tournaments are worth to watch! They are the best and the most favorite memories of my life.
Did you know that this paddle-ball game was found in the 1800s? Still, the game is popular and played by more than 400 million people across the world! These statistics are provided by the ITTF themselves, which is the governing body of all the Tennis Championships.
The major reason for the popularity of the game is the Convenience and their Advantages on your Mind and Body. It is one of those few games that have cerebral, and emotional benefits combined along with the physical aspects. Let’s check them all in detail:
1. Improve your Reflexes
Ping Pong is a short-distance type of game, and this demands the player to have a kickass reflex. You need to be quick on the serves and also be able to make rapid muscle movements. A person who spends an hour on the game will be more alert, and aware of the surroundings. He/She could better judge the external stimulation and that’s how you speed up the reflexes.
2. Easy on the Joints
As we age with time, the bones and the joints tend to lose the strength. Exercises become necessary during that stage, and Ping Pong game rightly fits for that. It does not add any stress or pressure near the joint area as the player only has to move side-by-side and hit the ball with the hand motion. This makes the game perfect for any aged person; be it kids, adults or an old person. Ping Pong unites all!
3. Mental Workout Too
Yes! By playing the Ping Pong you are not only working on your body but also your mental health is taken care of. You could do a better analysis of a situation and carry out complex planning in a strategic way. The cortex portion of the brain shrinks with age. Ping Pong helps with maintaining and increasing the size of the cortex. It also helps in tackling depression and anxiety problems.
4. Burn the Calories
Want to lose weight without hitting the gym? Replace your cardio session with an hour of Ping Pong. You are sure to get the perfect results! Moving from one place to another across the table is bit similar to the aerobics. Isn’t it? Well, sports are entertaining and an excellent way to get back in shape. It will sweat you out, and also keep the fun on while you burn the calories.
5. Fitness in Check!
You are pretty clear with how the Ping Pong benefits the body. Even a 15-minutes of the game could do wonders on your overall health. Another great thing about the game is that, no matter how much tennis skills you have, an easy-basic-slow game also works like any competitive game. While you are in the game, you keep moving and twisting your core muscles – this is what keeps your fitness in check!
6. Sustain a Balance
It’s something which can benefit the elder audiences. During a ping pong game, you will have to make quick movements and change directions depending on the placement of the ball. This helps in building the right balance in the body. The more you play – the better it will get!
You can play with your parents, and help them in maintaining the balance in their old age.
7. Develops Creativity
By playing this game with your friends or office colleagues, you could stimulate your brain functions and secrete more endorphins – which are the key elements for building up the creativity. Also, the game helps with sharpening the mind skills and lets you think more tactically. You get all of this while you are judging your opponent’s move and the way ball swings.
8. Meet New People
If you are new in town and looking out ways to make friends then a Ping Pong might come to your rescue. You may visit the nearby cafe, and interact with new people and things may get awkward. But if there is a ping pong table, then you can instantly join with the unknowns and set up a match instantly. It is one of the effective ways of getting to know a person, and there won’t be anything awkward too.
9. Cool Way to Socialise
Though we all are connected by technology, how much are we connected in real? Call in your friends for an evening Ping Pong match that could be followed by a smoky barbecue party. This way Ping Pong gives us the chance to disconnect from the social media world, and connect with people in reality. Another benefit of socializing include better relationships, and also improving your communication skills.
In the end, you will experience a mental peace by connecting around with the people you love.
10. It’s All About the Fun
There’s no point in playing a sport or activity if you are not enjoying it. Gaming is not always about winning or losing – but it is a way of getting to know yourself and others in a much better way.
We hear about the injuries that players experience or go through during a game. But the chances of injury or risk is found to be really low with the Ping Pong game. This way you can let the small ones play the game without any worry.
